Who Is The Best Scrooge of All Time?

I wonder if Charles Dickens rolled over in his grave when he caught wind that his classic Christmas Carol had inspired Vanessa Williams to play “Ebony Scrooge” in “A Diva’s Christmas Carol” in 2000. Or maybe it was Tori Spelling playing Carol “Scroogette” Cartman in 2003’s “A Carol Christmas” that really agitated his old bones. Either way, there have been an astounding number of Scrooges portrayed in films over the years – some spot-on and some… well… not so good.

Personally, I’ve always imagined Scrooge to be a curmudgeonly Christophobic crank like Alastair Sim (1951), Seymour Hicks (1913, 1935), or George C. Scott (1984). Don’t get me wrong, I love Kelsey Grammer (2004), Henry Winkler (1979), and Patrick Stewart (1999) and all, but they just aren’t haggard enough, raspy enough, or cold-hearted enough to be a real Scrooge for me, in every sense of the world. I just can’t stop chuckling over my favorite episode of Frasier, recalling how The Fonz was so good at getting that dang juke box to work, or picturing Captain Jean-Luc Picard benevolently commanding the Starship Enterprise. (For the record, The Fonz could possibly be one of the worst Scrooges in living memory.)

That is not to say Scrooge needs to be completely conventional. One of my favorite Scrooges of all time is still Bill Murray (1988). He’s just convincingly sarcastic enough to pull it off. We all know someone who is, perhaps not downright cruel, but certainly self-absorbed, conceited, career-centric, and blinded by how one’s actions can affect others. Didn’t your heart just go out to poor Claire Phillips? Naturally, it didn’t hurt to have Carol Kane, John Glover and Bobcat Goldthwaite cameos either. The whole movie was just a delight in a world of Miracle on 34th Streets and It’s a Wonderful Lifes.

There’s no limit to how we can re-imagine Charles Dicken’s tale. Scrooge has been black, white, male, female. He’s even been by a computer animated Jim Carrey. Some imagine Scrooge’s voice to be a Walter Matthau, while others imagine Tim Curry. There’s quite a disparity there, wouldn’t you say? A Christmas Carol has been translated to Barbie, The Muppets, Daffy Duck, Mickey Mouse, Mister Magoo, and The Flintstones. Given all the possibilities, the question is not will there be another Scrooge in the future, but who will be the next Scrooge?

Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill has the Political Joke of the Day

Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill has been known and admired for not mincing words. So we Honor her with giving us the Political Joke of the Day.

WikiLeaks: Truthsayers or Foreign Terrorist Organization?

The latest release of documents from WikiLeaks is stirring up quite a controversy. “This is worse even than a physical attack on Americans, it's worse than a military attack,” New York House Representative Peter King says, calling for the federal government to prosecute the group and its founder, Julian Assange, for espionage. He adds, “They are engaged in terrorist activity. What they're doing is clearly aiding and abetting terrorist groups. Either we're serious about this or we're not."

King is not alone in his thinking. “We’re at war,” reminds Senator Lindsey Graham, “and the world is getting more dangerous by the day. People who do this are low on the food chain, as far as I’m concerned. If you can prosecute them, let’s try.”

"We condemn in the strongest terms the unauthorized disclosure of classified documents and sensitive national security information," stated White House spokesman Robert Gibbs.

When Julian Assange released his first set of documents, the world was listening. We understood that WikiLeaks exposed a weakness in our government’s Internet security. We also heard his point that America is engaged in disappointing rhetoric and deplorable actions behind the scenes. In Assange’s words, “Every American schoolchild is taught that George Washington could not tell a lie. This document release reveals the contradictions between the U.S.'s public persona, and what it says behind closed doors.”

The latest release details how American foreign relations staff called Russia’s Vladimir Putin “The Alpha Dog,” France’s Nicolas Sarkozy “The Emperor With No Clothes,” North Korea’s Kim Jong-Ill “A Flabby Old Chap,” and said that Afghanistan’s Hamid Karzai is “driven by paranoia.” We learn that Hillary Clinton has sent our diplomats overseas to collect secret information on foreign officials – such as credit card information, frequent flier numbers, and biometics. US missile strikes in Yemen have been exposed, despite a Yemeni government cover-up. There are stories of Afghani corruption, Israeli bluffing, North Korea and Iran bomb collaboration, and uranium fears in Pakistan.

At first, the stories seemed important, newsworthy, relevant. Digging up a story is good journalism, but revealing tens of thousands of documents all at once with wanton abandon is just reckless. Now Julian Assange seems to be the worst villain to America since Benedict Arnold. Are his motivations changing? Did he begin his crusade as a warning to U.S. officials to protect their classified documents more securely, to be aware that they can be held accountable for their actions, and to engage in sober discourse about the leaked documents? Yet, is he now simply obsessed with the cat-and-mouse game he’s playing? Has he moved from exposing the truth to infuriating as many prominent people as possible? Is he merely driven by the attention, riding high on a tide of egomania as the world’s self-appointed moral crusader?

The 9 Most Shocking WikiLeaks Secrets

The 9 Most Shocking WikiLeaks Secrets

When Wikileaks first released classified documents I though it was damaging but necessary to keep the government in check. Now with the continuation of these damaging illegally obtained classified documents being released it's no longer about the truth but about money I suppose. Do you think Julian Assange is out for the truth or what is his thinking behind these new documents being released?

Mosque Money Shocker

Mosque Money Shocker

If you thought the location of the Controversial Mosque in lower Manhattan near ground zero was a fire storm wait until you read this. Being from New York I have a little bit of a different perspective maybe then other Americans. I believe that the Mosque has the right as long as it's done legally to locate anywhere it wants. Now I would say that it would be in good conscience for the Developer Shariff El Gamal to consider the circumstances and think about moving some where else. The local community board in lower Manhattan approved two separate votes to go ahead with the Park51 project and Mayor Michael Bloomberg also gave the go ahead amid National criticism.

I think that this has been more of a wedge issue for Republicans to get more votes during this past election. If the people in Manhattan approved the project by a democratic vote twice why are people like Florida's Governor elect Rick Scott calling it"Obama Mosque". Sources close to Developer Shariff El Gamal describe him more as a aspiring Donald Trump rather then a radical Muslim.

It has just been made public that Shariff El Gamal has applied for a five million dollar grant to help build the Cultural center in Lower Manhattan. The Grant is administered by the Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Corporation (LMDC), which oversaw the $20 billion in federal aid allocated in the wake of 9/11. So not only is this Mosque / Cultural Center being built near Ground Zero it's also using 9/11 funds to be built.

Now that you know this new information how do you feel?

Sarah Palin photo from High School.

With Sarah Palin's new reality TV show and her book she has been crossing the country hitting all the major cities to promote herself. Some say she's laying down the ground work for a presidential run in 2012 and getting a head start on the battle ground states. So what do you think Will she run for President or not? What do you think about this High School picture of her?

Michael Douglas' Ex-wife Law suit Thrown out of court

Michael Douglas might be losing his battle with throat cancer but he just won a battle with his Ex-Wife Diandra Luker. The pair have been divorced since 2000, Diandra went to court demanding 40% of the proceeds of Michael's Douglas latest and possibly his last film "Wall Street; Money Never sleeps". The Trial was held in New York and Judge Cooper who was presiding over the case said that New York was not the proper venue for the trial. The Couple divorced in California and Judge Cooper said that's were the case should be tried if at all.

How do feel about Diandra Luker, is she Cold hearted or just trying to get what she deserves? I am glad to see that Michael Douglas won this last battle against his Ex-Wife. You know even though he is in a lot of pain it had to put a smile on his face knowing his Ex isn't getting anything.

Charles Rangel is Found to have violated House ethics rules

Charles Rangle was found guilty of 11 ethics violations today by a House Panel , the ruling said that the violations have brought dishonor to the House of Representatives. On Monday Charles walked out of the House Ethics committee hearing declaring he could not afford a attorney to represent him. Charles said due to all of the attorney fees he has been paying over the last two years to defend himself against these ethics charges he no longer can afford an attorney he told the committee. The Ethics Committee took a total of four hours to conclude that Charles was guilty of 12 of the 13 counts against him.

These accusations started with a news report about Charles Rangle accepting four rent stabilized apartments below cost over two years ago. They also included a $60,000 accounting error on property he owns in the Dominican Republic among other things. In Charles's defense about the accounting error he said that he does not speak Spanish well so that's what created the the misunderstanding. I mean, that could happen right ? :) The Committee did clear him of trying to to build a school in his name because the donations to build the school could of been considered a gift.

The Problem I have with Charles Rangle is that he was the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. One of the most powerful Committees in all of Congress. Charles out of everyone should of known the rules and followed them to lead by example. Instead he claims he does not understand Spanish? Come on, Charles Rangle is a legend in New York specifically Harlem and for him to make these claims of a language barrier and so on is embarrassing. I have always liked Charles Rangle and maybe I don't know the entire story, but I expect more from a man of his stature.

Charlie Sheen an American Icon ?

American actor Charlie Sheen, born Carlos Irwin Estevez in 1965, has led quite an interesting life and career over the years. His father, Martin Sheen, is also no exception with roles on the hit TV show The West Wing and in the movie Apocalypse Now. While Charlie Sheen is known today for starring in both TV shows Two and a Half Men and Spin City, he’s also had quite a few roles in some top grossing films of our days. These include Red Dawn, Platoon, and The Rookie as well as others. His film career piqued in the mid to late ‘80s with much help from his role as Bud Fox in Wall Street in 1987; “Life all comes down to a few moments. This is one of them.” Little did he know how true these words would be. In the early ‘90s Sheen drifted into smaller film roles including things like documentaries and a few cameos. He was also listed as the executive producer in the film The Chase in 1994.

Sheen’s film and television career may be a successful one, but the same can’t really be said for most of the rest of his life. He accidentally shot his then-fiancée in 1990, which he had a daughter with. Needless to say that relationship ended. In the ‘90s, he gained publicity for dating pornographic actresses. Any publicity is good publicity, right? Maybe this is true for your career but definitely not your health. These short term relationship run-ins led Sheen to shooting up cocaine in the late ‘90s leading to an accidental overdose and a ticket to rehab issued by his father. A few years later in 2002, he tried to settle down with actress Denise Richards and they eventually had two kids. But, a Hollywood marriage is apparently only a four year commitment as Richards filed for divorce and made it final in 2006. She claimed Sheen had picked up drugs again and started abusing alcohol as well as threatening abuse. With the two young girls, Richards played the best move she could think of.

Sheen remarried in 2008 but was again charged and this time arrested for domestic violence and menacing against his new wife. He plead guilty to the list of charges and served some jail time as well as anger management classes and a second trip to rehab.

Sheen may have had his moments of insanity, but he undeniably attributed to same of the most famous films of the ‘80s and ‘90s. It’s unfortunate that the fame of Hollywood could have contributed to his struggles, but the film and television industry wouldn’t be the same without his wit and charm. Here’s to you Charlie Sheen!

Bluetooth-enabled Meds entering your bloodstream soon

A Swiss pharmaceutical company named Novartis AG has developed a type of Medicine which carrys an IEM (Indigestible event marker) which is activated by Blue tooth technology. The Blue tooth is activated when ingested and makes contact with stomach acid. The microchip (IEM) relays information back to the doctor letting him or her know if the drug is working. The IEM also sends information like heart rate, body temperature and body movements.

Do you think this is going to far? Soon we will be eating microchips without knowing it and being tracked all day. It really makes you want to be careful about what you eat. :)

Pentagon can't explain mystery missile cloud off the coast of California

Now in some lighter news the Pentagon is having trouble explaining what clearly seems to be a missile plume off the southern coast of California. The plume was spotted on Monday afternoon 11/8/10 during sunset. The plume was also caught on video by a Cnn affiliate which was taken from a helicopter.

John Pike a defense expert seems to have the mystery solved according to him. Pike said "it's clearly an airplane contrail". Pike also said that it's an optical illusion where it seems the trail is going up but it's actually coming toward the camera. The thing most puzzling to Pike is why the U.S. Government cannot figure this out and make this growing story go away. Col. Dave Lapan said that the Defense department is still investigating the incident as of tuesday morning.

The joke here is that we spend nearly a TRILLION dollars a year on the defense budget and we are still investigating the incident. How, how is this possible ? It makes you wonder what the hell is going on in the government. We have satellites that can follow you, wire taps that can listen to you from across the planet but we don't know if we shot a missile off yesterday.

Atlantic Ocean's waters reversed direction

I love this story , at what point are all the skeptics going to realize that the earth is changing rapidly. You can call me a nut job , environmental fanatic , a tree hugger or whatever but how many different examples of climate change do you need to see.

The change in water flow is critical in how the world's climate works. Even scientist were debating whether or not the water had actually reversed until recently. With new evidence from deep off the coast of Africa soil samples have conclusively proven that the Atlantic has in fact reversed direction back to the same direction of the last ice age. I guess things are all not that bad, the last time this happened was 20,000 years ago when the world was covered with ice sheets that were over a mile thick.

This article also ties in to my last post about renewable energy how we have to move away from fossil fuels. When are the people in charge no longer going to allow greed to influence their decisions on the environment. Isn't that what it really comes down to? Who in their right mind would actually want to ruin the environment if their was a lot of money to be made with saving it?

Great News - U.S. wind power post slowest quarter since 2007

Boy am I glad that those stimulus dollars are taking America into the future with renewable energy. Oh wait , whats this from Cnet.com U.S. wind power had it's slowest quarter of growth since 2007. Yes you did just read that right and I have the link at the bottom of this post for you to read.

I thought we just passed a stimulus bill which had funds to create jobs in the renewable energy sector? Where are the jobs? Where is the stimulus? This is the perfect time in our history to take advantage of this horrible economic situation our country is in. The government is throwing money at everything in order to create jobs but we are still at almost 10% unemployment. Out of all sectors to be slowing down, Renewable energy? Wind Power? If anything you would think that all the jobs are being created in those sectors and that would be the hottest place to get a job right now.

Never mind remaining a super power we will be lucky if we don't fall further behind over the next 10 years. China is leading the way in wind power and other renewable energy, now if they can do it why can't we? We have to create jobs and stop using fossil fuels right now. It just seems like we are throwing a great opportunity away to make important changes we need to make. We have to make sacrifices and get our country focused on the future and remain relevant in the world or we are going to fall further behind.

Sony Walkman Cassette Player Dies

Wow the walk man will no longer be sold in Japan as of April '11. Remember VCR's then came DVDs and now Blue Ray. Depending how old you are the disappearance of the walk man could really make you feel old. I am 31 years old the Walk man came out in 1979 and it's already extinct.

I do see a trend to more hybrid vehicles, maybe gas polluting cars will be a thing of the past in the next 20 years. Hopefully electric vehicles will be the wave of the future and reusable energy will make fossil fuels obsolete.I wrote a few post about the gulf oil spill so I would like nothing more then to see our dependence on oil come to an end. I also see a trend towards 3d tv's I think soon that might be the standard.

What do you think will be the next consumer device to become extinct?

Senator Mitch McConnell tells us how he really feels in this weeks " National Journal " Article

And we the citizens wonder why our Country is going no where fast, just look at Senator Mitch McConnell's Article in " National Journal ". Whether you are a Republican or Democrat at this point with all the divisiveness in Washington and bickering back and forth aren't you sick of it. Unemployment is above 9.5 % , homes are still going into foreclosure and Republicans are still trying to figure out if President Obama was born a U.S. citizen. I would say lets stop with the politics and sit down and agree on what we can but our Representatives cant even do that.

The reason the Tea Party is getting the Traction it is, is because Americans are sick of the same old Bs in Washington so they are looking any where for help. Sarah Palin is taking advantage of this opportunity and doing everything she can to be in front of the Tea Party movement to stay relevant. I am all for a 3rd even 4th political party but lets step up the game not take a step down. I wouldn't say that Delaware Senate Candidate Christine O'donnell or Nevada Senate Candidate Sharon Angle would be the direction I would want the next Political party to go. I understand that those two don't represent the entire Tea Party but they do represent the tone and views of the Tea Party.

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell is fighting hard for our country during these hard times. His number one goal for our Country is not bringing down the un employment not creating new jobs not reducing the budget not working with the President to improve the new health care bill but to make sure that President Obama is a one term President. Ok, so the Republicans are complaining how the country is going down the tube , but for the next two years they are going to focus not on improving the country but making sure Obama is a one term President.

Like I said I am not picking sides here Democrat or Republican but it's not hard to see why are Country is going no where fast. We need real leaders that are more concerned about actual citizens and their daily lives rather then power control and getting re elected. A third party makes sense but we need a legitimate one with reason.

Senate GOP rallies against Tax cuts , Mitch McConnell at the front.

It's beyond annoying now how stagnant the U.S. congress has become with it's lack of progress on any legislation. Am I missing something I thought that we just averted another "Great Depression" and that we are fighting two wars. Shouldn't it be all hands on deck putting differences aside and coming together to improve our country.
During WW2 People were asked to make sacrifices in order to help our country succeed, and succeed we did. Despite unemployment being so high , the economy not robust at all , the two wars and so on have you been asked to sacrifice anything for our country. The state governments are running gigantic deficits or going bankrupt altogether and we still want more.

I don't thinks it that much to ask if you are making more then 250k to incur a small tax increase. The majority of Americans over 90% will not see any tax increase at all. Now don't get me wrong I don't want to see taxes going up on anyone lower taxes I am all for, but isn't time to give back a little especially if you can afford it.

Jet Blue Flight attendant Steven Slater Jumps off the Plane

Do you think Steven Slater is a hero or just a nut job? He had over 20 years in the industry, the way he flew the coop would seem like a huge loss for him. How many times a day do you feel like pulling a Slater at your job? I would think the majority of us would love to do what he did if we had the balls to do it. If their were no consequences how would you love to take your job and shove it?

I think that even though he broke the law the way he did it was so classic that he should be given the lightest of sentences or fines. Granted it was dangerous and illegal but no one was harmed except him. I would love to hear the other side of the story from the customer who supposedly made him through his career away for being so rude.

Different tips and ways to get out of debt in America Today.

The unemployment rate is at 9.5 percent nationally but higher in certain states and cities. Those of us who have jobs are getting worked to the bone in fear of losing our jobs. Since 1980 our work production has gone up over 40% but our wagers have virtually remained the same. Since the 1980 CEO'S yearly salaries have gone up over 500% , yes you just read that right.

I hate to be another person on the soap box but where is the general public Bail Out? Oh wait I forgot we did it our selves so we have to pay the consequences. The Greedy money hungry big banks just had some bad luck so that's why the Government bailed them out with Billions of dollars. In case you have not noticed the middle class of this country is gone it no longer exist, now it's just the rich and those who work for the rich. Unions are going by the way side if you want to form a union you get harassed or forced out of your job. Now both parents have to work to support the family and they have to work longer to pay the baby sitter so they can go to work.

In my effort to try and help the common citizen I have comprised a website of financial advice and tips that I have used and know work. It's time Americans rely on each other for help and not big government. At http://www.freefinancialtipsandloans.com/ you are going to find two pages on how to get Personal and Business loans, plus real techniques to improve your credit. Getting out of debt is not easy and is an up hill battle most of the way but you can't quit and let the Man win. Think how good it will feel when you are out of debt knowing where you have come from when you thought you would never be able to. I will also show you get out of debt scams to avoid that will only waste more of your time and money. If your interested in getting a personal loan or improving your credit even if it's good visit my other site http://www.freefinancialtipsandloans.com/

I have not posted in a while so this is going to be a quick update on the subjects I have been following. These stories have interested me, but might not of made the front pages of the news papers. Do you think President Obama has kept his promise with the Iraq time table with the troop Draw down? Do you think Wikileaks has done the right thing by obtaining and then releasing secret information about the Afghanistan war? Larry's daughter is getting into the Porn Business ... WHAT !

Mexico’s Drug war 23,000 dead and counting

I wonder if U.S. citizens realize the extent of murder and mayhem that is going on in Mexico. In 2006 Felipe Calderon was elected President of Mexico and vowed to take down the Mexican drug cartels. Since Calderon’s presidency over 23,000 Mexican citizens have been murdered and mutilated.
The Mexican cartels were trafficking cocaine into the U.S. for the Columbians at first, then in the 80’s they became distributors as well. The Columbian cartels came up with an agreement where instead paying the Mexican cartels cash they would give them 30% up to 50% of the drug shipment as form of payment. This worked out great for the Mexican cartels because they already had drug routes into the U.S. from smuggling Heroin and Marijuana. When the Columbian drug cartels specifically the “Medellin “and the “Cali” cartels were dismantled during the 90’s the Mexican cartels benefited even more.

The Mexican cartel’s now own the U.S. illicit drug market with 70% of all U.S. illegal drugs coming from Mexico and over 90% of the cocaine in the U.S. comes from Mexico. The illegal drug trafficking from the Mexican cartels accounts for between 15 and 45 billion dollars annually. With that amount of money being made the cartels have been able to corrupt Mexican politicians and members of the Army. General Sergio Aponte is in charge of all anti drug campaigns in the state of Baja California and he has made public allegations about police corruption in his state. He went as far to say that the anti kidnapping unit in his state is actually doing the kidnapping for the Cartels and acting as their body guards. Another example of corruption is when in 2008 a U.S. border patrol agent was held at gun point by the Mexican army on U.S soil in the city Ajo Arizona. When the borders agents back up arrived the Mexican Military personnel retreated back to the Mexican side of the border.

In a evolving trend the Cartels are using younger and younger smugglers to cross the border with the illegal drugs. As recent as June 25th of this year another juvenile was found in a tunnel crossing underneath the Rio Grande River in Texas with over 200 pounds of marijuana. The sector chief in that area of Texas said that the cartels are exploiting the Mexican youth and putting their lives at ever increasing danger.

In recent developments President Obama has promised an additional 1200 U.S. troops to the Border States to help with border enforcement. The troops break down by state is as follows, 524 will be going to Arizona, 224 will go to California, 72 will be going to New Mexico, 250 going to Texas and another 130 will be special Liaisons. I am not an expert on border security but I would say maybe we need some more troops on our border not 1200 divided up by 4 states.

The violence is getting closer and closer to our border and soon I am afraid it will spill over. The way these cartels are cutting off heads in Mexico makes Al Qaeda look like a bunch of pansies. Once again we in the U.S. will have to wait until there is a full out invasion by the Mexican Cartels over our border before we really start taking this situation serious. Why is securing our border taking so long to happen why can’t Congress get their act together and secure our border? I think the reason is that they want to wrap securing our border into an immigration bill. If we have to wait for an immigration bill to come out of Congress that includes border security we might be looking at the Mexican American war part 2. Forget about an immigration bill we need to secure our border the right way and a positive side effect will be less illegal immigrants coming into our country and that’s should be priority number one.

I know what I am saying is easier said than done but you can say that about everything. We need clear and precise actions with results to improve the attitude of Americans. The American Osama Bin Laden Hunter just crazy or crazy like a Fox.

Gary Faulkner is the American that has traveled to Pakistan 7 times since 9/11 in order to find Osama Bin laden. Faulkner claims to have been aided by locals on the ground and also the Pakistani army itself. Gary states that the media is mischaracterizing the Pakistani people that in fact they are very nice and always have been helpful to him. According to Gary’s brother Doctor Scott Faulkner Gary currently does not have nor did he ever have any mental illness. The media outlets have been in my opinion portraying Gary as a crazy American a religious fanatic on a mission from God. Although Gary is a religious man and was found with a Bible on him in Pakistan does that make him crazy? In my eyes it’s called conviction and determination. People are not used to someone carrying out a plan when they say they will so Gary automatically gets labeled a crazy a loon. Granted he has the conviction a lot of wish we had, but do not fault a man for this. When 9/11 happened did we not all want to go to Afghanistan and find and kill Bin Laden well Gary did 7 times. I think the question everyone should be asking is not if Gary is crazy but how did he do it. Did you ever think it would be even remotely possible to board a plane fly into Pakistan get off the plane and start looking for Bin Laden, 7 times? And It‘s not like he stayed in the big cities either he went deep into tribal areas into no man’s land. If Gary was able to do this 7 times you are trying to tell me the CIA or Military Special Ops can’t get in there. I know what I am saying sounds simple but a supposed crazy man from Colorado was able to do it 7 times. If it’s true that our military is doing everything possible to get Bin Laden then I would say Gary Faulkner is the equivalent to our entire U.S Military minus drone attacks. To bad we don’t have more Americans with the same type of Conviction. This in no way is meant to be an insult to our men and women in uniform but maybe the politics behind the scenes and the strategy in place need to be changed. Please leave your comments.

Free Condoms For 1st graders in Mass?

On June 8th the the school board in Province Town Mass. Unanimously voted to provide condoms to all students in all grades without Parental consent. No one in the audience objected that night and for weeks before the vote the issue was being discussed in open meetings and local cable television shows. The school superintendent Beth Singer said she had only one phone call from a parent even after the proposal was approved on June 8th. That parent wanted to know when the program was going to start so she could talk to her kids about it.

Leave it up to fox news in Boston to stir the pot and start a controversy when they ran a Story entitled "Condoms at school". Immediately after that show the Mass. family institute put out a statement saying " Making condoms available to first graders bullies parents to submit to an agenda that promotes sexual promiscuity to innocent children at their most vulnerable age". Kris Mineau the President of the Mass. family institute said that the this new policy was "absurd" and parents should file suit to overturn it.

Now I agree that there should of been some obvious age limit in order to receive the free condoms which would of made sense. But do you really think the school was going to give first graders condoms, come on. As I reported only one parent was concerned about this new policy according the the school superintendent and that was about when it was going to start. Do you think the school district has nothing better to do but to give school kids condoms? Obviously their is a reason for this, it's called an epidemic of high school pregnancy's and the school district is doing what parents should be doing. Fox news and the Mass. family institute had to make this an issue to get ratings by saying first graders were going to get condoms. Where was Fox News or the Mass. family institute before this proposal was passed? They had other issues that were getting them more publicity and ratings , condoms for first graders was not that important only two weeks ago.

Two points; parents should be at the front line when it comes to educating their kids and if you want to have a conversation about condoms in school fine but don't let fox news start it with a gimmick for ratings because only two weeks ago no one cared.

Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Bp and the Minerals Management service are at it again.

Bp and the clowns in Washington are at it again and from my perspective serving up another disaster in the Arctic Circle. Bp is currently drilling another well "The Liberty well" in the Arctic circle three miles off the coast of Alaska. You might be asking yourself I thought President Obama put a six month moratorium on off shore drilling? Well you are right but the money hungry savages at Bp have figured out a loop hole that a 6th grader could of thought up and our Government of course approved it. Although the drilling sight is three mile off the main land it's in only thirty feet of water. The geniuses at Bp came up with the idea of building a man made island and a land bridge to the mainland. So now technically they are not drilling offshore anymore now its considered to be on land. Well not to worry of course with the disaster in the gulf and supposed tighter regulations our Government did not approve this drilling, WRONG! MMS approved it and Bp is working at the drill sight as I am writing this. Well not to worry because Bp must be taking extraordinary safety measures , WRONG again. This well is going to be the worlds deepest and Bp is using a totally new technique that has not been proven to be safe yet. The new well is going to be two miles deep and six mile across to reach an oil field of one hundred million barrels. This drill sight has already received state and federal permits to begin drilling. Breaking from usual practice instead of federal regulators conducting an independent analyses they allowed Bp to conduct its own environmental review for the "Liberty Well". But not to worry Bp said it's all good, they have it all under control. Even federally scientist said that Bp should of never been allowed to perform it's own environmental reviews that's the responsibility of federal regulators. In Bp's own promotional materials about the "Liberty Well" it says this well is going to push the boundaries of drilling technology. The Liberty well is really upsetting me I just cant believe with the worst natural disaster in U.S. history that this well can continue to operate as we speak and from all companies Bp. Incidentally Bp is the only oil company still allowed to drill in the arctic right now none of our U.S. companies are drilling. Look at my past post about this and other topics I believe my sarcasm and cynicism is justly supported up by these examples I keep pointing out. Greed has really taken over our government, how could they allow this Liberty Well to continue? Why isn't President Obama specifically pointing out this well and doing something about it? If we have another Bp disaster in the Arctic will that be enough for us to say we need new green technology to take us into the future? I am not saying stop drilling altogether but this Liberty Well is a time bomb and we are letting it happen again, it's like a slow motion car wreck. We need to contact our Senators and Representatives and let them know how we feel. What are your thoughts on this, in your comment tell us if you have or will contact your Senator or Congressman about this Liberty Well. I have all U.S. Government links at the bottom right of my page so its easy for you to do. Also check out the Ny times link for the full story.

The price of Cigarettes goes to $11.00 dollars a pack in New York.

The price of cigarettes are going to be at least $11.00 a pack in New York beginning July 1st. The New York state Legislature just passed a resolution adding additional $1.60 to the price of cigarettes which will bring the total amount of taxes to $6.85 a pack. New York leads the way with the most taxes on cigarettes in the entire country by far. The additional $1.60 is expected to raise an additional $290 million dollars to help combat the 9.2 Billion dollar short fall New York State is facing with its budget. The state who comes in second with the highest cigarette taxes is Rhode Island with $3.46 a pack. According to the American Heart Association this additional tax is going to make at least 100,000 people quit smoking in New York. Smokers seem to be a fast growing minority and the new tax is helping them quit at a faster rate and creating more revenue for the state, this seems to be a win win for New Yorkers. Do you think there should be a limit or a cap on the amount you can keep on taxing Cigarettes? Are smokers being taking advantage of why don’t they add these additional taxes on fast food and the like? I don’t smoke for all the obvious reasons but it does seem that smokers are easy targets for tax hikes.

Minerals Management Service, Bp’s oil spill, (R) Rep. Joe Barton from Texas and Judge Lynn Hughes it all comes full circle.

In earlier posts I have connected the dots as to how this entire travesty began. In short MMS rubber stamped anything that Bp submitted to them in order to drill the Deep Horizon well. In turn Bp took advantage of that fact and corruption and took even more short cuts which were abundantly clear from what I believe was great questioning during the Congressional hearings with Tony Hayward. In those hearings Rep Joe Barton from Texas apologized on behalf of himself for what he called a shake down by the White House for the 20 billion dollar escrow account to help all the people in the states that were affected. Rep Barton also takes money from the oil industry a lot of it in the form of donations, wink. I wonder If the Gulf residents feel as if it was a shake down, maybe Barton should take a swim in the Gulf  or eat polluted seafood and lose is income for the next five years and see if he still thinks it was a shake down. Now for the grand finale the judge that Bp wants to reside over the law suits has MAJOR OIL ties. Let’s see to start in 2008 Judge Lynn Hughes received between 50 and 100k from ConocoPhillips , he also receives money from Sun oil , Everest oil and Wagner oil for drilling on property that he owns, conflict of interest you think? Judge Hughes also leases land to Devon Energy to drill for oil in Oklahoma. Devon energy pays him only 15k for the rights to drill 10 wells, maybe the Judge was in a genorous mood that day and wanted to give Devon Energy a great deal. I am sure it has nothing to do with Judge Lynn Hughes ruling in favor of Devon Energy in a 2009 dispute with its insurance agency. I don’t think it can be any easier to connect the dots and see how our country works, it’s called money rules. We the people have to let our politicians know that we are not stupid and that we care. Because they obviously only care about one thing, money. Check out the links below and send a message to Representative Joe Barton and also tell us how you really feel and leave a comment.

Bp suspends Dividend for the wrest of the year and sets up escrow account. Progress?

The Gulf of Mexico is still a mess, the oil is still gushing out but we are making some progress on dry land at least. President Obama held meetings today at the White house with the top heads of the Bp oil company. I am happy to report that significant progress was made and the public should feel a little better about this entire crisis. Bowing to tremendous pressure I believe Bp did the right thing and suspended its dividend to its share holders for the rest of this year. Bp is going to also set up a 20 billion dollar compensation fund which will be overseen by Kenneth Feinberg the same man who oversaw the 9/11 victims fund. In addition to that Bp is also going to set aside 100 million dollars for oil workers who have been out of work due to President Obama moratorium on drilling in the Gulf. To date Bp has already spent over a billion dollars between the clean up and compensating workers in the Gulf States that have been affected by the oil spill. Mr. Feinberg also received an endorsement from one on my favorite Senators from New York Charles E. Shumer. Senator Shumer said that Mr. Feinberg did an amazing job with the 9/11 victims fund and thinks the people in the Gulf will feel the same way. How do feel about today’s events and Bp suspending its dividend?

Not to worry U.S. Oil companies Say they have the right Safety Plans in place in case of similar Bp oil Catastrophe in the gulf.

If you want to talk about a joke then you have come to the right Blog today. Do people still wonder why our country is going down the tubes? In my mind this comes down to two fundamental views whether you believe in big government and more regulations or smaller government and less regulations. The oil spill in the gulf I think falls in the category of smaller government and less regulation and I believe I was proven correct today on Capitol Hill. Rex W. Tillerson Chairman of Exxon Mobil testified today that he does not think that a disaster like the Bp oil spill could happen with his company. John S. Watson CEO of Chevron also took the same line as Rex implying that Bp mishandled the situation. This is where the joke really starts to develop, Bp’s plan in case of an oil spill said that it would be able to handle a spill of up to 250,000 barrels of oil a day. We see how well they are doing with a 30,000 barrel a day spill, not to worry because Chevron says it can handle up to a 200,000 barrel a day spill. Alright that’s seems a little more realistic I suppose so what about the rest of their plan. Well the U.S. oil companies also includes plans to rescue walruses and oh yea they also list the same phone number for the Oil expert Bp listed  that has been dead for years now. So our U.S. oil companies have almost exactly the same emergency plan as Bp does, don’t you feel safer now? What this tells me is it was not only Bp it is all the companies drilling for oil off our coast. Our Government approved these plans and said everything is ok, go ahead drill baby drill. I believe this is a direct result of less regulation the desire for a smaller government. The tone set by our Government tells business do whatever you want to make money, don’t worry we will fix it later. Kind of sounds like what happen when our financial system nearly tanked with the real estate bubble. Profit , profit , profit how many more times can these disasters happen before one day we are not going to be able to make it back from the edge of the cliff.

Has America passed the point of no return?

Let me come right out and say that I believe in America and I believe that we as citizens can still make a change and steer this great ship of ours back in the right direction. That is why everyone loves America and as Americans we always believe that were never completely out of the game. I also don’t want you to get caught up in the hype because as a country we have seen and been threw a lot of turbulent times throughout our history and made it threw them all and usually have come out better. All you have to do is look at the headlines in the news papers during these times , the Civil War, Great Depression, WW2 , Vietnam war , the stock market crash in the 80’s and so on and every time people were scared but we came out of the crisis and survived. The difference I think today that separates us now from those crises is technology. Technology has caused these major incidents to occur faster and more frequently. From one end of the spectrum to the other technology has evened the playing field for our enemies and has also sped up the process in which these crises happen. Look at the chain of events and short amount of time in which they have occurred. Starting around 2000 we first had the tech bubble, then 9/11 where guys in caves where able to take down the Twin Towers all organized threw the internet. Within ten years we had the Real Estate bubble explode in our faces and nearly brought our country to the brink of collapse. Now we have the Bp oil spill where they advanced the technology so fast that they can drill for oil over thirty thousand feet below the surface of the earth. The problem is the technology advanced so fast they don’t have the means to correct a problem when it occurs. They were more concerned with drilling for the oil to subdue or appetites and make a profit that safety totally took a back seat. The point I’m making is these major incidents have always been occurring but not as fast and frequent. The common denominator has been the advances in technology and the pace at which it keeps on advancing. Tell me what you think do you agree leave your comments.

Sarah Palin and “Boob Gate” does it make a difference to you?

Rumors are swirling around the internet that Sarah Palin has had breast implants. My question to you is, would Sarah Palin be as popular if it not for her being good looking? According to reports John McCain had a very limited vetting process with Palin. Was it because he was mesmerized by her looks and thought the country would be to. To a certain extent the country is still very infatuated with her and has given her perhaps more opportunities due to her being attractive. Those opportunities hence have given her more exposure and perhaps credibility due to that exposure. So whether she has implants or not I would say that it would only help her. If she came out and said that she had implants would the Tea Party no longer like her, I don’t thinks so. So what do you guys think leave your comments.

Forrest Gump’s Best friend Bubba (aka: Alvin Greene) has just Won the South Carolina Democratic Primary against incumbent Vic Rawl.

When I seen Alvin Greene on television I honestly thought it was Bubba from Forrest Gump running for the U.S. Senate. Well it turns out I just might be right Mr. Greene might be a republican plant according to Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and I hope so for the countries sake. Vic Rawl sent out 300,000 e-mails, conducted a quarter million robocalls and logged nearly 17,000 miles to Democratic events. Mr. Greene managed to defeat Vic Rawl with no emails, no campaign stops, no money for rallies, no staff meetings and that’s just the half of it. When asked how he won with not resources or money Greene replied by word of mouth. Mr. Greene also was charged with a felony last year for showing indecent internet photos and could face up to five years in prison. Even more Bizarre then Greene himself is why would Republicans even plant him when Republican candidate Jim DeMint is as close as you can get to a sure lock for the general election. I think this is just another example of Government and money overwhelming our society. Just like the financial crisis, the Bp oil spill and now another example with Mr. Green people with money think they can do anything because they can just pay the right people off. This is why we have to take a stand and vote these politicians out and take our country back. If you think things are bad now, the system is not going to fix itself unless the politicians are scared that they will lose reelection and that fear can only come from the voters. Check out the links below more details on this story and check out the video. Leave your comments vent your frustrations let your voice be heard.

It's time Bp gets taught a lesson from the American Public.

We need to take action into our own hands and teach Bp and the oil companies a big lesson. Bp has been getting Government money to drill baby drill in the gulf and this is the thanks we get. The oil companies in the gulf receive U.S. Government aid in order to fund new explorations for oil and that money comes from our taxes. So you can say that we literally paid for this oil disaster in the gulf to happen. Now it is true that the Minerals Management Service issues the permits and ok's whether or not the drilling site is safe and the proper studies have been completed in order to proceed drilling. So I would say that our Government is just as much to blame as Bp, Bp just took advantage of the situation. That is why we need Bp to fail so that our Government sees that the public can and will make changes. If this is not the time to make a final pivot towards green energy and energy independence then we will never do it. We need to Boycott Bp gas stations we need the Bp's stock price to continue to fall we need to contact our Senators and Congressmen and let them know that we are fed up. We have to take this momentum and run with it, now is the time to double down our efforts and make a difference. Read the links below if you want to stage a local boycott in your neighborhood contact me I will help you. If you need the correct Government links to contact people who make policy changes contact me. Now is the time to make moves and make something happen. Please leave your comments about what you are doing to help and just how mad you are.

President Obama an angry black man and the tightrope he has to walk

51 days and counting and the oil is still gushing out like a geyser; is the end of this nightmare in sight? President Obama has been going down to the gulf region on a fairly consistent basis now to show support to the area and to keep on the back of Bp. The President is being criticized for not showing enough emotion and not being angry enough, do you think that he has satisfied the public’s craving for emotion? In an interview with Matt Lauer he even said that he was going to “kick BP’s ass”. Is that all we needed just a little emotion from No Drama Obama to make us feel better about the situation. I thought we voted him in because he was calm cool and collected unlike George W. Bush who was the opposite. It seems to prove the point that Americans are hard to satisfy we want it all calm cool collected, emotions, smarts and in some cases like right after 9/11 all that goes out the window and we just want justice at any cost. Now the next shoe to drop will be that Obama has become an “angry black man” like a new article from Cnn’s website has a talked about. Can President Obama do anything right or does it just come with being a President, an African American president at that? I have the link below check it out and leave your comments about this post.

How low can you go? The Taliban is teaching young students how to become suicide bombers and about virgins.

The Taliban and these terrorist who transform and manipulate children into becoming suicide bombers should be blown up themselves. Every time we catch these Taliban losers we should strap them up with a suicide belt and blow them up in front of the kids and then ask the kids how they feel about being a Martyr. If its so great to blow yourself up how come we never see any top leaders or Bin Laden himself screaming Allah Akbar just before they blow up? In Pakistan's recent offensive into tribal areas their army has discovered more schools where the Taliban is teaching little children how to become suicide bombers. Lt. Col Yusuf of the Pakistani army said these schools are shocking and that all they do is brain wash the kids. The Taliban tells the parents of these children that they will feed their kids and give them an education. I know that their are many different variables but the bottom line is these Pakistani people literally live in mud huts , they have know money , food is hard to come buy, they live in the mountains and don't have any idea what the world can really offer them as far as education and opportunity's. The Taliban has paintings on the walls of the schools of beautiful valleys , flowers and virgins and they tell the children that's where they will go once they die. The children are taught that they will be swimming in rivers of milk and honey , the shore lines will be covered with virgins and they remind the kids how bad their life is and how good it could be. In the school that was closed down by the Pakistani military Lt. Col Yusuf said that at least 200-300 kids had already passed threw the school before it was closed down in late summer. Can we do anything to stop this insanity , we already give Pakistan billions in aid and we have are military there hunting the terrorist, what else can we do? Doesn't it bother you that these low lives take advantage of children and brain wash them to become suicide bombers? I have the link with the full story below please leave your comments I respond back to all.

Enough about war and terrorism. Now on a lighter note Preisdent Obama appoints his first Transgender appointee.

Gee whiz these days you can really say that you have seen it all. Amanda Simpson was appointed by President Obama to be a senior technical advisor in the Commerce Dept. Amanda said that she was proud to be one of the first Transgender appointees and hopes that hundreds more are coming soon. When Amanda was a man he was a test pilot for Raytheon defense contractor. During her ten year employment there she began and finished her transformation into a women. I guess you can say that Obama really is trans formative! Amanda also was a delegate for Hillary Clinton in 2008 and ran for a seat in the Arizona state Government but lost in 2005. I wonder what the Republicans are going to say about this? I'm sure they will be understanding and accepting. Will this become another distraction for the White House, how come the Republicans are not going crazy about this right now? We have our first African American President , Almost a women President , Gays in the Military and now one of the first Transgender appointees, do you think that you have seen it all yet?

Has Al Qaeda put us in check mate?

It seems that their has been an up tick in attempted attacks by Al Qaeda against the American home land. With in the last four months we have had the Fort Hood Incident before that we had the Bombing plot in New York almost carried out by Najibullah Zazi. Najibullah Zazi is the 24 year old man from Colorado with links to Al Qaeda who had planed to bomb Grand Central Station. I hate to say it and I pray it never happens again but Al Qaeda has not stopped and the attempts are coming faster and faster. Has Al Qaeda backed us into a corner that we can't get out of? When you break it down to it's simplest form on 9/11 a group of men boarded planes and flew them into buildings as acts of war. Almost ten years later how is it possible for a person that is on a watch list who was denied a Visa from Britan, can pass threw multiple security layers and can still board a plane with NO LUGGAGE? Seriously, how after all the new agencies , after breaking down the bureaucracy so we can connect the dots better, after all the security upgrades, updates, has anything really changed in the last eight years? Is the next step to profile and and forget about being politically correct and hurting feelings or should we stop flying altogether? If Al Qaeda takes down a plane what do you think will happen, everyone will be pointing fingers. This terrorist was from Nigeria bought his ticket cash , had no luggage , was on a terrorist watch list and his father called our embassy to tell us about him. Do you think we should of profiled this guy just a little bit, I really don't think with the facts that I just stated anyone would of objected to a little profiling especially the people on that flight. So do we have to profile , do we have to stop flying, has Al Qaeda pushed us to the point where we have to question our rights as citizens in order to remain safe?

POLITICO Arena: Sherrilyn Ifill's response to '1)Flight 253: Do you agree with Janet Napolitano that "the system worked."2)Iran protest killings: Should the president be speaking out forcefully?'

Now you have to take off your shoes and Underwear when boarding a plane?

Example after example after example, is it just a matter of time before we get hit again? First it was Richard Reid trying to take down a plane over Christmas Holiday a few years ago and now in another attempt Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab from Nigeria has also attempted to bring down a plane flying into Detroit Michigan. How is it possible that this new attempt almost became a reality? It is almost ten years since 9/11 and we would of had at least two downed planes since then if it were not for faulty fuses. In the latest attempt the suspect actually sewed the explosives into his under pants, is the TSA going to strip search us now? It is obvious that Al Qaeda will never stop trying to take down our democracy and our way of living as long as their still around. The suspect in the latest incident was actually on watch list, his father called the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria to tell them about his sons radical thoughts and beliefs. It is very logical to think if you keep trying and refining your attempts to do something eventually it will happen, so what can we do to prevent another terrorist attack on board a plane? It is hard enough to keep security tight over here in America how can we ensure that other governments are doing their job which would of prevented this man from even boarding a plane altogether. Should we just reside in the fact that something is going to happen and just live with it ? Please leave your comments I respond back to all.
